Woodies Racing Takes on Round 1 of the 2022 Snocross Season

Milaca, MN (January 12th, 2022) - After a great summer of racing cars, Woodies Racing returns to the snow with 2 new riders on the team and a hunger for precious metals. The 2022 snocross season opened in Shakopee, MN this past weekend at the legendary Canterbury Park. A great track and some incredible no-holds barred racing brought in thousands of fans packing the venue both inside and out!

Pro Women - Taven Woodie

After being off the sled for almost a year after injury in Dubuque in 2021 Taven Woodie jumped right back in without missing a beat. Friday despite the wicked cold temperatures she was able to Win her first round and take second in the second round putting her into the final. The light went green for the final and one of her competitors veered across the field nearly taking out several of the other pro women and flipping Taven and her sled. This led to Taven getting run over and her even seeing the underside of someone else's sled. Luckily her helmet did its job and she was able to walk away with a broken nose and a very black and blue body. After a restless night she decided to race Saturday and took 2nd and 3rd in rounds 1 and 2, respectively, but as soon as that light went green in the final she absolutely ran away with the race, taking her first win in 2 years and showing us all that she is one of the best in the sport and is here to stay.

Pro - Trent Wittwer

Also coming back from a season (mostly) away our newest rider Trent Wittwer showed incredible speed and talent on the track. Saturday he was able to lead almost his entire 2nd round until the final lap after pulling the holeshot of the weekend! Trent said the weekend was all about learning, being in an ultra-competitive field that has doubled in size since last season he knows that every ounce of his focus needs to be on making that podium. Walking away from the weekend Trent knows exactly what areas he needs to work on personally and what areas the team needs to dial his sled in for to get him to where we all know he can be.

Pro Lite - Dylan Roes

Our second new rider Dylan Roes was also getting back into the swing of things with a much bigger field than last season. Unfortunately, he just found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time getting stuck with other sleds, collisions with competitors, and more. Luckily he was able to walk away from each incident in good health. If you know Dylan you know that all this will do is light that fire under him to charge harder in Dubuque
